Kathy Sanders

Kathy has had a lifelong interest in the arts and started painting by attending rosemaling classes over 25 years ago. This interst evolved through acrylics and ‘tole’ painting techniques and has now come full circle back to oils. Kathy achieved her certification as a Teacher of Decorative Art (TDA) and has been teaching classes in oil and acrylics for the past ten years. Her favorite subjects are floral arrangements and flowers as she is also an avid gardener. Most recently, Kathy creates her unique handmade artisan glass beads used in jewelry and on her gourd art.

Kathy is married to woodcarver and flute-maker, Les Sanders. She has two children, Luke and Jessi, and five grandchildren.

Kathy is a member of the Northern Artists Association, the Society of Decorative Painters, Northland Decorative Painters, Mid-America Woodcarvers, International Society of Glass Beadmakers, and serves on the North Country Arts & Crafts advisory board.
