Curtis Schagunn

Curtis started creating wooden flowers and coin jewelry after being laid off in 2007. While visiting an art gallery in Tubac, Arizona, he was really moved by the beadwork he saw and decided to learn another art form. He then taught himself, through magazines and talking to others, to create and design pieces of jewelry using various stone and bead types. This has been a very relaxing and therapeutic adventure.

Curtis and his wife moved to Bemidji in October 2010 from Tucson, AZ and have been involved with Gallery North since March 2011.

Curtis was stationed in Tucson, Arizona with the Air Force for 7 years and studied construction engineering at Pima Community College. He then worked as a carpenter for 10 years and then as a construction superintendent for over 20 years, before learning to express himself through his jewelry.
