Gallery North Fine Art

B. E. Jolly

B. E. Jolly (who is also known as ‘BJ’ ) says she has had so many incarnations in this lifetime that when she grows up, all she wants to be . . . is a fine artist.

Enthusiastic in pursuing this adventure, she is fascinated by the spectrum of color and the human face.

Curious to learn the process of many art mediums, she primarily creates in watercolor, acrylics and pen-and-ink.

This is a self-portrait done in the Expressionist style for an oil pastel class. Her friends who saw it just loved it, so she thought it would be fun to include it here.

At the recent Artists of Minnesota Spring Show held in Hutchinson, MN, Gallery North member Barbara “BJ” Jolly was the recipient of a Merit Award for her pen and ink drawing. In addition to her art being displayed at the Gallery, her art is currently hanging at the Fleur de Lis Gallery, Headwaters School of Music and the Arts, Wild Hare Bistro, the Sanford Walk-In Clinic, and the Bemidji Tourist Information Center.
